Not merely the efforts of adept surgeons are required to ensure desired results after the surgery. The patients also require following some instructions to improve their outward appearance with permanent and undetectable hair restoration surgery. Do not self treat yourself under any condition. Recovery takes time. Be patient and act upon post operative instructions to avoid any problem.   

Surgery is carried out under local anesthesia that usually numbs the area for three to four hours. Once the anesthesia wears off, some pain and discomfort with soreness of scalp and minor swelling can be experienced by patients. Luckily, the pain and swelling is temporary that can be treated with painkillers. It is suggested to take care of scalp by using certified medications. This will help reducing swelling and irritation in scalp because patient is suggested not to touch the scalp under any circumstances after undergoing the surgery.  

   

For the first night, it is necessary to elevate your head. You must sleep in semi upright position with two or more pillows to prop up your head. Keep your head elevated for three days following the surgery.

Avoid all kinds of physical activities for one week after the hair transplant surgery. Avoid blowing your nose strongly, leaning forward and sexual activity.

Avoid sun exposure if your scalp is swollen and pink. Don’t forget to wear hat before going under the sun.
